Rerun a period
Found a mistake after recording a period? Reopen it or rebuild it from the schedule, with a clear record of what changed.
Updated July 18, 2026A recorded period stays put, which is exactly what makes it safe to report from and export. Nothing shifts underneath a period you have already run. But safe does not mean stuck, if you find a mistake after recording, InstructorHUB gives you two clean ways to fix it, both from the "Corrections and management" panel on a recorded period.
Re-open the run
Re-opening returns the run to an editable state without rebuilding anything. The hours, corrections, and routing you had are all still there, you are simply back in review so you can change what needs changing and record again. This is the right choice for a small fix, a routing or bookkeeping entry that went the wrong way, a rate you need to correct, one session to adjust. Reach for re-open when the period is almost right.
Reset and recalculate
Resetting is the heavier option. It discards the manual edits on the period and rebuilds the hours from your current schedule. Use this when the schedule itself changed substantially after you recorded, for example a class you had run pay against turned out to have moved, and you want the period to reflect the timetable as it now stands rather than patch it row by row. Because it throws away corrections, InstructorHUB asks you to confirm before it goes ahead.
Nothing happens quietly
Whichever route you take, the change is tracked, so there is a clear record of what moved and why, rather than a silent edit to a period everyone thought was closed. A period that has already been paid is protected more tightly still, InstructorHUB will not casually overwrite pay that has gone out, so if a guard stops you it is doing its job. When in doubt, re-open, review, and record again, that path always leaves the cleanest trail.
