Adjustments and pay summaries
Correct a person's pay in place before you record a period, and share a clear summary of the run with your staff or your bookkeeper in a couple of clicks.
Updated July 18, 2026Most of a pay run is confirming figures that are already right, because the hours come straight from your timetable. But now and then a number needs a nudge before you record the period, and once you have run it you often want to hand someone a clean summary of what they were paid. Both happen from the pay run itself.
Adjusting a person's pay
You adjust pay by correcting the row it sits on, not by bolting on a separate adjustment. Open any person's row in the pay run and you see the sessions behind their figure. From there you can change the hours on a session, correct a rate that resolved wrong, or remove a session that should not be paid this period. The total updates as you go, so you always see the effect of a change before you commit it.
Because the correction lives on the actual session, it is honest, the figure and the detail behind it always agree, and a later rerun or export carries the corrected numbers rather than a hidden top-up. If a contractor needs an extra line that is not tied to a class, that is handled on their invoice rather than here, see Create an invoice from hours.
Sharing a pay summary
Above the pay run are three ways to send a summary of the period, and each produces the same per-person breakdown in a different form. Copy summary puts the run on your clipboard as text, ready to paste into a message or email. Email summary opens an email with the summary already drafted. Print summary opens a print-ready page you can print or save as a PDF for your records or your bookkeeper.
These are useful the moment a run is done, so a staff member can see exactly what made up their pay, or so your bookkeeper has the period's figures in a form they can file. For a longer view of what you have paid one person across several periods, the staff pay report gives you that per-instructor picture, which is handy at review time or the end of a term.
