What instructors see

Instructors get a clean, read-only view of just the resources shared with them, so they have the right materials and can never change yours.

Updated July 18, 2026

When an instructor opens Resources in their portal, they see a filtered view, only the files, links, and videos that have been shared with them under the access rules you have set. Everything else in your library is not there for them, so their view stays relevant and uncluttered without you curating a separate copy.

Read-only by design

The instructor's view is read-only. They can open and view a resource, and open its underlying file, link, or video in a new tab to read or download it, but they cannot edit, move, rename, duplicate, or delete anything, and they cannot change who else sees it. Those controls belong to you and never reach the portal, so your library is safe no matter how many people are looking at it. An instructor gets exactly what they need to do their job, and nothing that could disturb your organization of it.

Why a resource appears or does not

What an instructor sees follows directly from the access on each resource and folder. A resource set to everyone shows for all staff. One set to specific staff, a work type, or a tag shows only for the people that rule includes. So if an instructor mentions they cannot find something you meant them to have, the fix is on your side: check the resource's access and make sure their work type, tag, or name is covered, as explained in Control who sees a resource.

The upshot is a tidy split. You organize, share, and control the library once, and every instructor gets a personal, always-current, read-only window onto just their part of it.
